這部電影的劇情大致上取材自德國格林兄弟所蒐集到的童話故事《長髮姑娘》

片中主角樂佩的名字Rapunzel和原著名稱相同。在格林童話原著中，
長髮姑娘的母親在懷孕時期非常渴望吃到一種稱之為Rapunzel（另一說法為紅 菜頭）的植物。
因此長髮姑娘的父親進入巫婆的菜園偷取，被巫婆發現，
要脅以嬰孩作為代價，長髮姑娘也因此被命名為Rapunzel，
而在《魔髮奇緣》中則 被改為具有魔力的太陽花，葛索靠其永保青春，

新的一天就在早上七點展開

7 AM, the usual morning lineup

整理家務先把地板擦乾淨

Start on the chores and sweep 'til the floor's all clean

然後打蠟洗衣再把地板擦亮

Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up

再擦一次 但時間只過十五分

Sweep again, and by then it's like 7：15

於是我讀一本或兩三本的書

And so I'll read a book Or maybe two or three

在我的畫室裡增添更多作品

I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery

彈吉他織毛衣最後再來做飯

I'll play guitar and knit And cooking basically

不知道人生何時 改變

Just wonder when will my life begin?

午餐過後拼圖射飛鏢和烘焙

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking

做個面具然後芭蕾西洋棋

Paper mache, a bit of ballet and chess

陶藝還有腹語做點手工蠟燭

Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making

伸懶腰 畫些畫 再攀岩 縫衣服

Then I'll stretch, maybe sketch, take a climb Sew a dress!

我又在讀一回已經讀過的書

And I'll reread the books If I have time to spare

想找點空白處增加更多色彩

I'll paint the walls some more I'm sure there's room somewhere

我一次又一次整理我的頭髮

And then I'll brush and brush and brush and brush my hair

困在一成不變的塔裡

Stuck in the same place I've always been

我不停在想 整個人都陷在思緒裡 人生何時改變

And I'll keep wanderin' and wanderin' And wanderin' and wonderin' When will my life begin?
